Last year was a year of important events for CHOPAR. Both Landstævne in Denmark and Gymnaestrada in Finland were organized during the same season. Have a read of what these events are all about and how team CHOPAR were involved.

Suomi Gymnaestrada 2022
In the summer of 2022, a large number of gymnastics enthusiasts headed to Tampere, to participate in one of the largest gymnastics exhibitions held every four years in Finland.
Six days of gymnastics with a total number of 185 clubs taking part in various events, including competitions, shows and performances of several different gymnastics disciplines. The event about group performances – some with hundreds of participants. Adults and children of every age and description perform.
CHOPAR's main role in the event was to take part in producing the costumes for the group performances of the closing event. Ten different ensembles were to be made.
The actual process of creating the costumes already started in the fall of 2020 and culminated at the Ratina stadium on 12.6.22.
It was phenomenal to witness how the outfits supported the themes chosen for the different programs and how the used fabrics and designs worked in action. The themes and outfits differed nicely in the various programs and created a lively mix to the whole. Even though the closing ceremony was held on the last day of the event, one could still see a glimpse of the costumes each day - thanks to the field show rehearsals. As a great bonus, the closing ceremony got to be held in good weather! Something that is never a given during the Scandinavian summer.

Our starstruck moment was to watch the The Danish Performance Team, sponsored by CHOPAR, performing at Gymnaestrada. The group was visiting Finland for the first time ever and when not showcasing in different events, they participated in holding workshops and lectures at the event.
To our excitement, the CHOPAR team got to meet a lot of gymnasts at the event. The hearts were especially warmed by the little gymnasts, who had enormous joy and energy wherever they moved. On the other hand, the older gymnasts, who had many major events behind them, brought a touch of tradition to the atmosphere; the classic event from the men’s artistic gymnasts was especially memorable. We raise our hats to the several 65+ year-old men who competed in the all around competition and did it with such grace. Well done!
Shows worth mentioning were also The SHOW - it and FEEL - it evening performances, which both evoked a range of emotions from tears to laughter.
Excited to see where we will meet at the next Suomi Gymnaestrada. Until 2026 that is!

The Joy of Movement and Belonging
Landsstævne is a four-day sports festival in Denmark that takes place every four years. The participants come to try different sports and enjoy the summer together. The event culminates in a performance on the last day, where gymnasts and dancers play the main role.
This gymnastics and dance-focused show is unparalleled, and definitely the biggest part of Landsstævne's events. The show features all Danish second year Efterskole students who have honed their parts in their own schools before the main show. The final performance is put together on site only in the days leading to the main event, when all the performers get to practice together. The main focus of the show is gymnastics and the students who chose gymnastics as their major. Youngsters who have chosen music or another sport appear in supporting roles.
Since CHOPAR was the main partner for this year's Efterskole team's outfits, we were of course present at the event held in Svendborg.
There was a unique feeling in the air when thousands of Efterskole students gathered at the stadium to perform in this spectacular mass performance. Both the performing students and the audience of several thousand people were part of a breathtaking experience that left no one cold.
The weekend was full of magical experiences, amazing performances and costumes. The atmosphere was happy and both the performers and the audience participated to the fullest! Even though the days were rainy, the audience came to cheer in large numbers.
This year’s Landsstævne started on Friday evening when we got to witness the most beautiful cloudless sky coupled with a stunning sunset. There was both joint singing and dancing, and the atmosphere was at its peak. The many performances offered everything from the World Team's fantastic club series to wild dancing boys wearing dog masks. The evening continued into late night with Lars Lilholt and Hjalmer performing in the big marquee.

Many of us were looking forward to this year's Landsstævne specifically for the Efterskole team. We at CHOPAR were excited to see the many beautiful costumes that we manufactured for the show.
The wait finally ended on Saturday afternoon for the premiere of the Efterskole team. The show was breathtaking. Almost 6,000 students moved simultaneously to the music. The programs, music and costumes formed a beautiful ensemble. In the moment when the music students sang their beautiful choral song while the other students lay on the ground and looked dreamily at the sky, it was almost impossible to hold back the tears.
Before the show, we spent some time with a few excited students, including Caroline and William from Ladelund. The duo waited impatiently to finally be able to show the audience the result of their hard training and to experience the magical feeling of performing together alongside thousands of other students. We asked their opinion about the costumes made by CHOPAR. Caroline told that she truly enjoyed the comfort and trendiness of the outfits. William, on the other hand, was happy that he could use the clothes he received in everyday life as well.
